Summer Programs at Arete

Summer programs at Arete vary from year to year but we generally offer five or six weeks of Dungeons and Dragons Camp, Cardboard Camp and a Nature/Art Camp.  Our camps are offered to the community and campers with ADHD, anxiety, learning differences and twice exceptional learners are understood, supported and welcome.

July - August
D&D Accoutrements Camp

During the summer of 2024 we offered five weeks of Dungeons and Dragons Accoutrements Camp.  The camp took place from 9:30 AM - 3:00 PM Monday through Thursday.  Campers participated in a variety of creative D&D projects and activities including making: potions, terrains, wands, orbs, staffs, cloaks, capes and/or cardboard armor.  Campers also made food items that would be found in a tavern or that were dried or preserved in order to last without refrigeration during a long adventure. During our break times we did trivia, puzzles, games, character sheet creation and plenty of D and D-related chatting.

Campers participated in multiple campaigns over three days which equated to about six to seven hours of game time. Students were grouped by age, experience and compatibility.  We plan to offer this camp again during the summer of 2025.
